Australian Holiday Visa
When traveling to Australia anyone who does not hold an Australian or New Zealand Passport will reqiure a visa to enter Australia. So if your wishing to travel to Australia for the pupose of taking that dream holiday, make sure you get your visa first.
All Australian visas that are granted are valid for 12 months, and you also have 12 months to activate it.
Obtainting Your Visa
There are many different types of holiday visas. Outlined below are the options for the most common types of holiday visa. However, if your circumstances aren't covered please give us a call on 0845 045 5525 and we will help you determine your eligibility.
Australian Holiday Visa (ETA)
An Australian holiday visa is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. You may enter Australia on this visa for as many visits as you wish during this time. However, no single visit may be longer than 90 days. Employment is prohibited when entering using any Australian holiday visa.
In order to apply for an ETA Australian holiday visa you must hold a valid passport from one of the following countries:
- Andorra
- Austria
- Belgium
- Brunei
- Canada
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
- Hong Kong (SAR)
- Iceland
- Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Liechtenstein
- Luxembourg
- Malaysia
- Malta
- Monaco
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Portugal
- Republic of San Marino
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- Taiwan*
- United Kingdom - British Citizen
- United Kingdom - British National**
- United States of America
- Vatican City
* Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed for an ETA if resident in and applying in Taiwan.
** Holders of UK passports which indicate their nationality to be British National (Overseas) (BNO) can be processed for an ETA if applying via a travel agent, airline, or at an office of the department. BNO passport holders cannot apply for their ETA online.
Note: Having criminal convictions renders you ineligible for the ETA system, however you may apply for a 6 or 12 month visa.
The cost of an Australian Tourist ETA Visa is $24.00 USD.
Six & Twelve Month Holiday Visa
This purpose of this visa is the same as the tourist ETA, however it will allow you to stay in Australia for a longer period of time.
There are no restrictions on who may apply for these types of visas.
Six Month Holiday Visa - $221.00 USD
Twelve Month Holiday Visa - $250.00 USD
