Australian Business Visa (Life of Passport)

If you wish to travel to Australia for business reasons, you will require an Australian business visa. There are various types of Australia business visas. Australia business visa short validity is valid for 12 months and allows for multiple visits of up to 90 days during this period.

Australian business visas long validity are for people who wish to make regular short business trips to Australia, again of up to 90 days each. However, this type of Australia business visa is valid for the life of the passport. You will therefore only need to apply for a new visa when your passport expires. There is a one off Australian government charge for each Australian business visa which is covered in the cost of this visa.

The cost of an Australian business visa for the life of your passport is $192.00 USD.

A life of passport Australian business visa allows you to visit Australia to conduct appropriate business activities. This includes:

Exploratory Business Visits

You are not allowed to actually work except for where the work can not be done by an Australian citizen. Under those circumstances you are able to work for a short period of time. When entering under Australian business visas you may not act, perform music or take part in commercial film making.

Australia business visas are now processed and issued electronically and are known as ETA’s (Electronic Travel Authority.) Your Australia business visa will be electronically attached to your passport by our Australian Government licensed computer system.

* Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed for an ETA if resident in and applying in Taiwan.
** Holders of UK passports which indicate their nationality to be British National (Overseas) (BNO) can be processed for an ETA if applying via a travel agent, airline, or at an office of the department. BNO passport holders cannot apply for their ETA online.

All applications for an Australia business visa must be lodged from outside Australia. It takes around 24 hours for Australian business visas to be processed.
