Anyone intending to travel to Australia for business purposes will require an Australia business visa. Australian business visas are now issued electronically and are known as an Electronic Travel Authority or business ETA. Your Australian business visa is electronically attached to your passport through our computer systems on behalf of the Australian Government. You no longer require a stamp in your passport as airport staff now confirm that ETA Australia business visas are in place electronically.
Australian business visas are valid for 12 months from the issue date. You may use an Australian business visa to enter Australia for as many trips as you wish during this period. However, each single visit must not exceed 90 days.

A short stay Australia business visa allows you to enter Australia to conduct business including meetings, conferences, negotiations or exploratory business visits. You may not work under a short term business ETA, except for a very short period of time, where the work can not be carried out by an Australian citizen or permanent resident. You may not participate in acting, musical performance or commercial film making under a short stay Australian business visa.
In order to apply for an Australia business visa you must hold a valid passport issued by one of the following countries:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America or Vatican City.
Your passport should be valid for at least six months. Applications for Australian business visas must be lodged from outside Australia. Short stay business ETA’s usually take around 24 hours to be issued. You will receive confirmation of your visa by email. This can also be posted at your request.
