If you wish to travel to Australia for more than 90 days, and less than 6 months, for the purpose of tourism, then you will require an Australian six month tourist visa.

Once your visa is issued to your passport, you have up to 12 months to enter Australia.

Australian City At Night

This visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 6 months from the day you first enter, and also allows multiple entry so you may leave and re-enter Australia as often as you like within a 12 month period from when you first enter (only for up to 6 months per time).

This visa does not permit employment during your stay in Australia, so you may be required to show that you have sufficient funds to accommodate your time in Australia (around $5,162 USD - $6,195 USD).

You will not be allowed to study on your Australian 6 Month Tourist Visa for a period longer than three months.

If you intend to study for longer than four weeks you may also be required to undergo a chest x-ray examination.

How long does this visa take to process?
This visa usually takes from 2 – 5 weeks to process.

Will I be required to take a medical examination?
If you are under 70 years of age, you will usually not be requested to undergo any medicals, unless you have any medical conditions stated on your application. Applicants over the age of 70 will require a visitor visa medical certificate 70-85, and a doctor’s report. Applicants over 70 may also be required to provide evidence they have sufficient health/travel insurance for the duration of their stay in Australia.

I am travelling with my child(ren) without their mother/father, does this matter?
Children travelling without both parents will require consent from the parent that is not travelling for their child to be out of the country.
