In order to be eligible for a working holiday visa, you must meet the New Zealand visa financial requirements. You must have a minimum of £150 per month of your stay. For a twelve month stay therefore you would require a minimum of £1800 to meet the New Zealand visa financial requirements. This is to ensure that you can meet your basic living costs. You may then gain casual employment to subsidise your trip.
The other element of the New Zealand visa financial requirements is that you must either hold a return ticket, or have the funds available to buy a ticket.
You may be asked to prove that you meet the financial requirements upon entering New Zealand. You may ask to provide evidence, generally a certified copy of bank statement is acceptable evidence.
