The New Zealand working holiday visa programme provides an opportunity to travel around New Zealand whilst allowing you to take up casual employment to help finance your holiday.
New Zealand working holiday visas offer a choice of stay, up to 12 months, or up to 23 months. However, you may only work for a total of 12 months, regardless of which length of New Zealand working holiday visa you choose.
You may also study or train for up to 3 months when entering under New Zealand working holiday visas.
Your passport should be valid until at least 3 months after you intend to depart from New Zealand.

In order to be eligible for New Zealand working holiday visas, you must hold a valid passport from one of the following countries:

There are also certain health, character, and financial requirements you must satisfy to be eligible for New Zealand working holiday visas.
You will be given 12 months to activate your New Zealand working holiday visa. The visa will be activated by entering New Zealand. Your 12 months in New Zealand will start from the date of entry. This visa allows multiple entry, which means you can leave and re-enter New Zealand as often as you like during the validity period of your visa.
