REGIONAL SPONSORED SKILLED MIGRATION APPLICATIONS

A points system is used for the initial assessment of Skilled Migration applications. Points can be awarded for age (up to 44), English language and occupation. If you are not awarded enough points to apply for Independant Skilled Migration, you may be eligible for Regional Sponsored Skilled Migration.

This type of visa will allow you to stay in Australia for up to 3 years, with the opportunity of applying for permanent residency once you have lived there for 2 years and worked for at least 12 months.

In order to be eligible for Regional Sponsored Skilled Migration, you would require a sponsor from either a participating territory/state government agency or an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia. Relatives agreeing to provide sponsorship will have to sign a form consenting to this.
