SPONSORED SKILLED MIGRATION APPLICATIONS

A points system is used for the initial assessment of Skilled Migration applications. Points can be awarded for age (up to 44), English language and occupation. If you are not awarded enough points to apply for Independant Skilled Migration, you may be eligible for Sponsored Skilled Migration.

Your sponsor can be an eligible family member or terriroty/state government. Eligible family members who wish to act as sponsors must be either an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen. They will be required to sign a sponsorship agreement.

Participating State and Territory governments for this visa are:
• South Australia
• Tasmania
• Victoria
• Western Australia
• New South Wales
• Queensland
• Northern Territory
• Australian Capital Territory

You may contact one of the above territories/states regarding possible sponsorship if your skills are required by them. If the territory/state agrees to the sponsorship you will be required to remain in that territory/state for a minimum of 2 years, be obliged to keep them informed of any change in your circumstances and prepared to supply them information as requested.
